Remember those green little monster-like veggies which you hated as a kid? Aaand you probably still do. Well, we’re programmed in such a way that we never liked Broccoli. Why should we? It looks almost scary. :D
But on a serious note, even though we all love meat, we shouldn’t forget that vegetables are an important part of our diet. Sometimes, just sometimes, if we are a little more careful about our diet, we can have a control over our weight, hormones, calories and even hunger! We all want to look good and feel fit even when we’re old, after all.
We thought we would bring you a list of those healthy veggies which are great for weight loss as well!
Take a look…
Carrots
The first and the foremost veggie is carrot. The best thing about it is that you can have it the way you want. Be it cooked or uncooked, boiled or grated in a salad — it is always delish.
Leafy greens
Ooh la la, here’s the one we’re most afraid of. But believe it or not, leafy green veggies are super important for our bodies. Now that I think about it, don’t we get salads and lettuce in those burgers too? Shouldn’t that count?!
Cauliflower
Cauliflower is another great option which helps you get the necessary proteins, fiber and energy you need without making you fat! ;)
Mushrooms
A study says that consumption of mushrooms help in weight loss because they regulate glucose levels. An abundance of vitamins and potassium is just an added bonus, really.
Broccoli
Here comes the inevitable broccoli. High in fiber and full of protein — this one is honestly essential. These keep you filled and are helpful in maintaining weight as well.
Cucumber
Cucumbers are mostly made of water and nutrients which are important for our bodies. Imagine eating something which has NO FATS or carbs. It’s like a dream food then.
Eggplant
Eggplant or aubergine is a low calorie but nutrient dense food. Meaning, you get the necessary nutrients without gaining many calories. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?
Fun fact: Eggplant is actually a fruit and is often misunderstood as a vegetable.
Don’t ignore your veggies!
Be it spinach, celery, onions, tomatoes or peppers… Just give them another chance! :D
